Poon Hill is one of the most popular vantage points in the Annapurna region that offers panoramic views of the Annapurna Mountain massif. The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek offers excursions to the beautiful lake-side city of Pokhara where you can enjoy views of tall mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Manaslu (8,516m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m) and many others in a relatively close proximity. Famous as the adventure spot of the country, Pokhara offers activities like fishing, boating and swimming on the pristine lakes of the valley. Adorned with beautiful vegetations and verdant woodlands and forests, Pokhara is an absolutely ravishing destination that has the encompassment of the trekking trail going through it. While boating, you can also see the reflection of the Machhapuchhre Mountain, also called “the Fish-Tail” mountain on the shimmering surface of the Fewa Lake on a clear day. Trekking through dense forests of fir and maple trees, the trail continues to Ghorepani and Poon Hill. You will also come across settlements and villages along the way and can observe the traditions and cultures of the people residing there in adjacent to enjoying the natural beauty of your surroundings. Starting off the trek from Kathmandu, a short scenic flight to Pokhara presents gorgeous sights of the terrain below. From Pokhara, the trekking trail continues to the large and prosperous town of Birethanti. Passing pasturelands and meadows blooming with flowers and mountain goats grazing, the Annapurna Poon Hill Trek has trails trudging to Tikhe Dhunga.

 

Ghorepani is a conserved area holding the largest rhododendron woods within its acreage. Ghorepani presents spectacular vistas of Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Nilgiri (6940m), Hiunchuli Himal (6441m) and more from its location. Hiking to Poon Hill presents highlights of 180° view of the Annapurna massif and its surrounding peaks from its vantage point. Sights of mountains like Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Mt. Nilgiri (7,040m), Annapurna South (7219m), Lamjung Himal (6,986m) and many more are majestic to look at. Moreover, when the rays of the sun hits the mountains and changes their color from ivory to burning saffron, the whole sight is breath-taking!

DAY 1 - KATHMANDU  to nayapul (7 - 8 hours) , then sTART TREK: WALK 30 Minutes TO bIRETHANTI (1050M)

 

Early Morning at 6 AM: Leave the Hotel to catch the Mountain Bust to Nayapul! The travel journey by Mountain bus of this adventure is a  7 to 8 hour bus ride from Kathmandu to Nayapul, where The Trekking does start, walk for 30 minutes: Overnight stay at Mountain Hotel in Birethanti


 

 

DAY 2 – Birethanti to ulleri (2070m.) 5-6 hours walking

Our trek starts at Birethanti a large village with many shops and teahouses after an hour drive on a private vehicle from Pokhara. We start walking from Birethanti and after ascending steeply for the first 2 hours and then ascend gently to reach at Ulleri, a large Magar village at an altitude of We'll be doing some steep climbing today, as we head up what's known locally as the "Ulleri Stairs".. Overnight at Mountain Hotel in Ulleri

 

DAY 3 – Ulleri  TO GHOREPANi (2860M) 6-7 HOURS WALKING


The path of ascent is a scenic one, winding through forests of magnolia and rhododendron. In flowering season, the sights and scents are absolutely amazing! If you keep your eyes peeled, you'll catch sight of the Nepal gray langur monkey chirping at his peers as he passes through the treetops overhead!  Today’s walking is about for 6-7 hours: overnight stay at Mountain Lodge in Ghorepani.

 

DAY 4 - GHOREPANI TO POON HILL  to ghandruk (2000m). 7-8 hours walking

 

An Hour early morning hike to Poonhill (3210m.) offers you the view of the sunrise view over Annapurna Himalayan Range: Poonhill is popular for best sunrise view in Pokhara. We will rise very early and reach the base of Poonhill. About an hour of climb will take us to Poonhill viewpoint. We can get sunrise view over Dhaulagiri Mountain (8167m), Annapurna I Mountain (8091m), Annapurna II Mountain (7937m), Annapurna III Mountain (7855m), Annapurna IV Mountain (7525m), Annapurna South Mountain (729m), Nilgiri Mountain (6940m), Tukuche Mountain (6920m), Varaha Shikhar (7847m), Lamjung Himal (6931m) and other mountains. We will return to hotel in Ghorepani for breakfast and then take descending trail to Tadapani village from where we can get views of Annapurna South, Annapurna II, Fishtail and other mountains.
After Reaching at Tadapani (2560m.) the small village,  the trail to Ghanruk is a relatively easy downhill trek through gentle forests. Once you reach Ghandruk you will have great views of Annapurna South and Fish Tail. Overnight stay at Mountain Hotel in Ghandruk.
 


 



 

DAY 5- GHANDRUK TO Nayapul (1050m) 6-7 hours walking


This is the last day of trekking and while we cover some distance its all downhill and relatively easy. You will have good views of some of the peaks like Annapurna South as you hike. Once you reach the small village of Kimche you will be walking  through beautiful Himalayan village with view of Annapurna Himalaya View on background. Overnight stay at Mountain Hotel in Nayapul

 

DAY 6 – Nayapul  TO KATHMANDU (1400m) 7-8 hours drive

The 7-8-hour drive from Nayapul to Kathmandu brings us back the way we originally came, ending again in a comfortable hotel. Your long trek is complete: it's time for some rest! After an afternoon to nap and relax. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu city.
